Dana Swift, Senior Engineer. Dana has invaluable skills that he uses to oversee all software and hardware development and testing in the UW Float Laboratory.
Aadithya (Aadu) Prakash, Senior Engineer. Aadu recently joined us. He writes float and data processing software, designs and analyzes float hardware, and maintains the float lab's computer infrastructure. We are pleased to have him as part of our group and look forward to working with him.
Rick Rupan, Research Engineer and Laboratory Manager. Rick builds and tests floats and supervises day-to-day operations in the lab.
Greg Brusseau, Research Engineer. Greg builds, tests, and troubleshoots floats in the lab and also regularly travels to ports to carry out final checks prior to loading for deployment.
Andrew Meyer, Research Engineer. Andrew builds, tests, and troubleshoots floats in the lab and maintains technical drawings of the floats. He also travels to ports to carry out final checks prior to loading for deployment.
Robert Drucker, Research Scientist. Robert carries out scientific programming related to float data analysis and calibration.
Matthew Alkire, Research Scientist. Matthew is responsible for data management related to the UW Argo float data and carries out all of the delayed-mode data processing.
Jaqui Neibauer, Project Manager. Jaqui manages all aspects of work in the float lab, including keeping accounts up to date, arranging travel and meetings, and scheduling large purchases of equipment.
Paige McCay, Undergraduate Student Worker. Paige is an undergraduate Oceanography major at UW who began working in the float lab in January of 2024. She carries out numerous tasks in the lab and prepares float components for construction.
